An anomaly in the ground equipment has pushed back the launch of Ariane 5 rocket 24 hours. Originally scheduled to launch today from the Space Center in Kourou, French Guiana with its cargo of a PanAmSat PAS-1R satellite, the launch time has now been set for Thursday morning at 2:07am GMT. This will be the fourth commercial flight for the powerful new Ariane 5 rocket.

Look to the sky Friday and Saturday night and you may see a modest meteor shower, estimated to be around 100 meteors an hour. The November 17-18 Leonid Meteor Shower is the time when our Earth passes through the dust trail left behind Comet Tempel-Tuttle, and although this year should be light, next year is estimated to be 100x stronger - 10,000 meteors an hour.
