NASA STRONGLY DENIES MARS PROGRAM COVER-UP

NASA denies a news report that they knew that the Mars Polar Lander

(MPL) mission was doomed. The charges are described as "compete

nonsense". The claim is that the space agency covered up test data that

demonstrated that the MPL's fuel would not function in the cold of space.

MILKY WAY CONTAINS NEW CLASS OF GAMMA RAY OBJECTS

New gamma-ray observations have shown that about half the previously

unidentified sources of high-energy gamma-rays are actually in new class of

objects. They emit gamma-rays continuously, rather than in the flashes or

bursts of the most famous gamma-ray emmiting objects. The discovery has

dramatic implications for this field of astronomy.

13 planets DRIFT THROUGH ORION

The most extensive study of the Orion Nebula has revealed 13

"free-floating planets" drifting through the gas and dust of space. The

planets are not in any orbit. Only two such objects have been discovered

before. The new observations hint that large planets may be more

common than previously believed. The research also uncovered more

than 100 brown dwarfs.
