GALILEO TO BE CRASHED TO PROTECT EUROPA

The Galileo spacecraft, currently exploring Jupiter and its moons,

may be crashed intentionally to remove even a slim chance of

contaminating the Moon Europa. scientists believe that Europa is

capable of sustaining simple life. When it was launched in 1989,

Galileo was not quarantined or cleaned, and there is a remote chance

that microbes could have survived.

28 YEAR-OLD Pioneer 10 spacecraft GETS A REVIVAL

Originally launched in 1972, Pioneer 10 is still providing valuable

scientific data. The program nearly died a few years ago due to

lack of funding, but was revived when scientists studying chaos theory

took an interest. Also, in 2 million years, it should the red star

Aldebaran, carrying a message from humanity for any sentient life

it encounters en route.

MUSEUM ASKS COURT TO REJECT INDIAN CLAIM TO METEORITE

The Confederated Tribes of the Grand Ronde Community of Oregon filed

a claim to the 15 ton meteorite that the American Museum of Natural

History has possessed for 94 years. The museum maintains that the

meteorite is not a sacred object, and has never been the property

of the tribe.
