that asteroid BF19 definitely won't hit the Earth in 2022. In fact,

new calculations on the 800 meter rock show that it won't come

any closer than 5.6 million kilometers in the next 50 years.

FINAL GLOBALSTAR satellites IN PLACE

A Boeing Delta 2 rocket launched from Cape Canaveral yesterday

carrying four Globalstar satellites into orbit. This is an important

launch, because these birds complete the full Globalstar

constellation of 48 satellites.

PHOTOS FROM XMM REVEALED

The European Space Agency's new X-ray Multi Mirror (XMM)

observatory, now renamed the Newton observatory, has produced its

first set of pictures. Its first astronomical targets included a

region of the Large Magellanic Cloud containing a large number of

supernova remnants, as well as an area called the Hickson-16 group

of colliding galaxies.

SHUTTLE WIRE PROBLEM WON'T DELAY LAUNCH

NASA engineers discovered a damaged sensor wire near the top of

one of Endeavour's solid rocket boosters, but they have decided

the problem is so minor, the shuttle is fine to launch. The launch

is still set for Friday at 9:30am PST (1730 UST).
