ENDEAVOUR IS GO FOR LAUNCH
Although there were concerns on Friday that potential engine
problems could delay the launch of the Space Shuttle Endeavour,
NASA has cleared her for launch. The shuttle will launch today at
12:45 EST (17:45 UTC) on its 11-day radar topology mapping mission.
Thick clouds have set into Cape Canaveral, however, and could
still force a delay.

MARTIAN meteorite FOUND
Although it was discovered in the Mojave Desert 20 years ago, a
recently analyzed meteorite turned out to come from Mars. This is

JOHN GLENN MISSION INFORMATION RELEASED
NASA released information on Friday detailing their research on
77-year old Astronaut John Glenn during his spaceflight in 1998.
It turns out his elderly body handled the rigors of spaceflight
as well as astronauts half his age. In fact, the only area where
he differed from the younger astronauts was the fact that he
OUR solar system COULD BE RARE
Although planets have been discovered around other stars, two
astronomers at Ohio State University believe that the formation
of Gas giants at moderate ranges from their star (such as those
in our solar system) could be a rare occurrence. This is based on
recent evidence gathered from a technique called microlensing.
During a recent survey, Jupiter-sized planets only occurred in
30% of systems.
