POSSIBLE DISCOVERY OF EXTRASOLAR EARTH-SIZED PLANET
Using a process of examining stars called a "gravitational lensing effect",
astronomers at Mount Stromlo Observatory in Australia and the Mount John
Observatory in New Zealand have discovered what they believe is an
earth-sized planet orbiting a distant star.
HURRICANE ENDANGERS SHUTTLE FLEET
As it approaches the Florida coast Hurricane Floyd has NASA officials a
little worried. All four Space Shuttle are in buildings designed to
withstand 170-200 kph, and forecasters are expecting Floyd will clock
in at over 240 kph. And it's bearing right down on the Kennedy Space
Center which contains the shuttles. NASA is scrambling to evacuate
its teams and protect the fleet.
